PAR Helping You Help Others

PREPARE AND RESPOND

DISASTER RESPONSE TEAM

When nearby communities get hit by natural disasters, we all want to help. But we don’t often know how. PAR is prepared and ready to respond.

We find the needs. We have the tools. We offer the training.  We help you help others.

WHAT IS PAR ABOUT?

Watch this recent video about PAR that was filmed during our spring 2025 deployment to Mississippi.

This interview with our volunteer Bob Gathany, captured by Bill Reddoch Outdoors, highlights what Prepare and Respond is all about—ordinary people showing up in extraordinary moments to help communities recover after disaster.

We’re proud to be one of the nonprofits in the Share Your Story video grant challenge hosted by The Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville. Being part of this initiative allows us to amplify our mission—and celebrate the power of volunteer service.

HAVE CHAINSAWS, WILL TRAVEL!

Thanks to our volunteers who traveled to Oak Vale and Carson, Mississippi, in March 2025 to clean up tornado damage. While their chainsaw skills are amazing, they show love to people of all ages in other ways, too. See photos here on our Facebook page.

We appreciate our sponsors! You help us help others in their times of need.

HERE’S OUR STORY

We hope you never need PAR. But for those who do, we’re here to help. Take 60 seconds to watch what PAR does.

WHY DO WE DO WHAT WE DO?

This is why. Read it all here.
