We’re excited to share this recent video about PAR that was filmed during our spring 2025 deployment to Mississippi.

This interview with our volunteer Bob Gathany, captured by Bill Reddoch Outdoors, highlights what Prepare and Respond is all about—ordinary people showing up in extraordinary moments to help communities recover after disaster.

During this particular response effort, PAR volunteers were on the ground helping residents clean up after devastating tornadoes. Chainsaw teams cleared debris, support crews offered practical aid, and hope was shared one conversation at a time.

The video explains what drives our mission. Whether we’re helping families in Mississippi or responding to severe weather closer to home, we want to show up where we’re needed.

We’re proud to be one of the nonprofits featured in the Share Your Story video grant challenge hosted by The Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville. Being part of this initiative allows us to amplify our mission—and celebrate the power of volunteer service.
